When Saint Francis stakeholders — residents, families, donors, and staff — interface with Michael, they recognize his extensive knowledge of accounting principles; auxiliary grant and private-pay revenues; budget and forecasts; payroll and benefits; regulations and laws; and more. Michael relies on 20 years of administration and finance experience, multiple economics and finance degrees, as well as a Master’s in Healthcare Administration. Michael also updates and hones his skillsets, as a university financial coach, through the National Association of Health Services Executives case competition. Highlights of Michael’s day are helping residents and families navigate finances and collaborating with Saint Francis’ dynamic healthcare team. His after-work pursuits range from family time and listening to jazz to working out and attending sporting events.
